COVID-19 Update: Open for All Dental Appointments
MEET DR. YADAV
Hi, I’m Dr. Varun Yadav and I am a general dentist in Sunnyvale, California. I was born and raised in New Delhi, the capital city of India. I immigrated to the United States when I was 10 years old and have been in living the San Francisco Bay Area ever since. I have always been interested in the medical field solidifying my foothold in dentistry in my third year of undergrad. Now, I live in the beautiful city of San Ramon enjoying hobbies such as cooking, hiking the outdoors, and spending time with my family.
My parents have always wanted the best education for me when growing up. I attended Las Positas the community college in the Bay Area and received my degree in Human Biological Sciences from the University of California, Merced. After completing a rigorous post-baccalaureate program, I attended Roseman University of Health Sciences in Utah where I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. My school excelled in the field of general dentistry. Not having specialty programs within the school meant we got to see all the cases that would come through the door. I excelled specifically in the fields of Oral Surgery, Prosthodontics (full mouth rehabilitation cases), and Orthodontics.
In my summer breaks, I would volunteer at non-profit clinics such as the Indian Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma, and the Bright Island Outreach Program based out in the Dominican Republic. While in school, I was advancing my education by taking courses in advanced implantology and grafting techniques. I hope to maintain my continuing education by taking more courses which discuss topics such as cosmetics, sedation, and advancements in techniques/materials used in the dental field.
My dental philosophy is to spread education to my patients. Rather than having the mantra of drilling and filling, I want to get down to the root cause of patient problems. If you are getting a lot of cavities, we should look into getting you an electric toothbrush. If you are grinding your teeth, we should look into getting you a night guard. Prevention is the answer to all things dentistry, even our brothers and sisters in medicine have noticed. I practice dentistry full time now and try to volunteer for non-profit clinics on my time off. I hope to see you in my practice so, we can start working on your dental game plan.

Staining of teeth or teeth discoloration is a common dental condition that can affect the appearance of your smile. There are several factors that can contribute to staining of teeth such as irregular dental hygiene habits, constant use of tobacco (smoking), aging, consumption of beverages such as tea, coffee, wine, etc.
Patients can now reshape and build their misshapen teeth to achieve that classic, lustrous smile by using shell-like restorations known as dental veneers. Dental veneers are designed and constructed to modify your teeth's shape and size. They come from porcelain or composite resin material and can be customized to suit your dental needs.
The challenge of having an aesthetically unpleasant smile can be hard as it could directly affect the patient's confidence to smile and present themselves. Many dental conditions such as missing or broken teeth can be restored today with dental restorations to restore appearance and aesthetics, dental bridges being one among them.
Dental restorations are prosthetic devices that are built to restore missing teeth and smile aesthetics. Restorations come in fixed and removable forms - crowns, veneers, bridges, and dentures to name a few. Dental crowns are the most popular artificial teeth replacement option used by dentists to help replace missing teeth and restore your smile to the way it was.

The simple process of removing a damaged or broken tooth from its roots is known as a tooth extraction. Tooth extractions can also be performed on wisdom teeth. The method can also be referred to as wisdom teeth removal or wisdom teeth extraction.
Dentists also advise tooth extractions in the case of overcrowding as it can lead to misalignment issues in teeth.
A root canal is an endodontic treatment dedicated solely to treat and recover damaged teeth. The term is derived from cleaning the canals inside the tooth roots. The treatment aims at removing the damaged areas of the dental pulp. Some of the common reasons behind a damaged pulp are cracked tooth, deep cavity, trauma, or repeated dental treatment.
